Our tour guide from Te Anau was so informative! We loved the bus journey, hearing about all of the NZ wildlife, produce and of course the areas filmed in the Lord of the Rings movies :)

We are glad we went with the smaller boat cruise. Although best seats were quickly taken, it seemed everyone was able to move around at different times and enjoy different views. I would personally recommend going straight to the front of the boat on the bottom floor rather than the rooftop. We were surprised that the tour went all the way out to sea, and it was really cool to be out there. The views along the way were so stunning. You not only get lush green mountain sides but the tallest peaks show awesome geology and snow caps. We saw fur seals lazing around on a rock looking very happy. And of course getting wet by the waterfalls was really quite fun and special! Highly recommended this cruise. Perfect amount of time to be out there and soak it all in. Warm drinks provided to cozy up if the outside gets too cold, like after you go under the waterfall!

Experience was brilliant can't fault it, hence the 5 stars, it's an incredible part of the world. Booking with Headout was concerning briefly as the company southern cruises, were unable to see our booking and it took the lady on the desk a good 15mins to resolve by calling others to try find it and of course holding up the line. Thankfully I had my confirmation number etc. We would recommend not using a third party personally like Headout and go directly to the boat companies. It was resolved but apparently a frequent issue. So allow time for that!
